P.O.S.T. #27 - there are far better things ahead than any we leave behind

Welcome to everyone's favourite thing in the whole world - the newsletter from the Old Street Tavern in Ludlow, Shropshire. We bring news of what's on, when to see it, what to drink when you're there, and how wonderful it is.

JANUARY HIGHLIGHT - THE REV IS BACK!

The Reverend Ferriday is back, playing L.O.S.T this Saturday 24th January!

The Rightly Rev’s slide guitar has the raw, foot-stomping energy of the classic juke joint sound, and his deep, powerful vocal tells stories of cheap whisky, red lips, bad roads and broken hearts, driven by a bass beat - if you don't dance then you're very probably dead.

JAZZ - NICE.

Following the Reverend's performance, next Friday 30th January we welcome back the world-renowned Ben Creighton-Griffiths' Trio. Fresh from his tour of Asia, he will be playing django and bossa nova classics, and also his own compositions on harp, accompanied by guitar and double bass.

We had an absolutely cracking evening on Saturday 10th January, when a smorgasbord of pretty things did their thing to the works of The Thin White Duke. Charlotte Knott, Paula Riordan & friends, Trovatori, Pig Daze and Versaints produced renditions that would rival classic covers by the likes of Johnny Cash and The Disturbed.
