Welcome to what is, arguably the best thing in life ever - the newsletter from the Old Street Tavern in Ludlow, Shropshire, containing news of the lovely, lovely beers we're currently running, what's on, and all the other stuff that makes life worthwhile.

AIRFIX, MAPS AND PRINTS - OH MY!

We’re pleased to let you know our Christmas mini market will be popping up again upstairs at the Old Street Tavern on Saturday 13th December, from 4pm–8pm. It’s a lovely chance to support local traders and familiar faces, with Funko Pops and Airfix Models by Dave Barry, original photographic prints and Christmas cards by Mike Dodson, beautiful historic maps from Pepper Lane Antiques, and shawls sold in aid of HIHI (Helping Indians to Help Indians).

Perfect for picking up something a little different for Christmas or finding a unique stocking filler, there’ll also be mulled wine for sale with a complimentary mince pie, so call in, warm up, and enjoy a friendly, festive afternoon right in the heart of Ludlow.

A great choice of local beers and ciders, along with wines and goodly spirits.

Our house beers HPA by Wye Valley, Jaipur by Thornbridge and Hawkstone lager are joined this week by:

CASK

Nelson Pale Ale by Rooster's Brewing Co. - Soft and easy-drinking, brewed with Nelson Sauvin hops. White wine fruitiness and hints of gooseberry are backed up by a balanced grapefruit bitter kick on the finish. 4.3%

Dorset Amber Ale by Piddle Brewery - brewed on the banks of the River Piddle, an amber ale refreshingly well-hopped, and well-balanced with a citrus twist. 4.1%

Cambridge Gold by Elgood's Brewery - brewed using Maris Otter Pale Ale Malt, and hopped with Sovereign and Cascade hops, and a late addition of Mosaic hops, this is a beautifully balanced, hoppy, and refreshing beer with a full hop character. 3.9%

KEG

Juice Forsyth by Brew York - fruity IPA that combines Cascade, Citra, Columbus and Mosaic hops with guava and mango for a tropical explosion as bold and juicy as the legendary entertainer this salutes. 5%

City of Angels by Brew York - inspired the Los Angeles punk scene, a West Coast IPA packed with piney and resinous hop flavours, with a classic bitter punch balanced by subtle notes of citrus and grapefruit. 5.5%

Little Rosa by Polly's Brew Co. - the same flavour notes, mouthfeel, and aroma of Polly's most well-regarded and well known beer now in a sessionable 5%. Mosaic, Enigma and Citra hops, with a warm hug their own LA3 yeast strain.

FruitAge by Brouwerij Rodenbach - a blend of aged ale, young ale and 7% cherries, this has a sweet-sourness and fruity notes, giving pure refreshment. 3.9%

Annabel Rose

Next Friday we are looking forward to hosting Annabel Jones - AKA Annabel Rose, who will be playing her electro-folk soundscapes, and dancier, dreamier numbers upon harp and keyboard. Expect gorgeous ethereality.

On Saturday 10th January we have lots of pretty things celebrating the songs of David Bowie, bringing their takes on his work. The FREE tickets are going fast - book yours here.
